In keeping with our mission to
improve the quality of life for people with disabilities especially
spina bifida and their families, and to provide direct service, The
SBAWP offers several quality programs and
services.
Since 1985, the SBAWP has provided overnight developmental camping for youngsters with spina bifida often at little or no cost to their families.
Young people ages 6 and up attend sessions that run from June through August. Activities include traditional camp fun with time to learn self-care routines and pre-vocational skills. This program is extended to year-round use with our weekend program.
The Family School Partnership program bridges the gap between parents and school personnel to provide educational information, advocacy, family and school consultation, and a variety of other services.
Adult services works with the young adult age 18 and older. Specific training, diagnostic services, vocational rehabilitation and on-going support are the core services you will find in our programs.
